Cloudy for most today with brighter breaks across the eastern half of the country. Scattered outbreaks of light rain and drizzle will occur at times, but will be mostly confined to the west. Misty today too with patches of fog, particularly in the south. Scattered showers will develop later on this afternoon. A mild day with highest temperatures of 12 to 16 or 17 degrees, with light to moderate southerly winds.

Cloudy tonight with patchy light rain and drizzle, with mist and hill fog developing overnight. Clearer spells will be limited to the north and east. Later overnight, a band of rain will move in from the southwest towards the early morning. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light to moderate southeasterly winds, freshening in the southwest towards morning.

Friday start off rather dull and wet with mist. A band of rain from the southwest will slowly clear northeastwards, becoming patchier as it moves early on. Scattered showers will follow in behind with brighter spells also developing. It will become generally drier too towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times, and veering westerly with the passing of that rain.
