Dull, wet and rather breezy today across the North and Northeast with rain persisting through the day. Cool with highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, in a fresh easterly breeze. Damp or locally wet starting out elsewhere with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. While it will become somewhat brighter, scattered slow-moving heavy showers will develop too. Highest of 8 to 11 degrees in light to moderate, mainly southerly breezes, fresher along southern fringes.

Tonight will bring scattered outbreaks of rain, heavy in places. Misty in parts too. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 7 degrees, coldest across north and northwest counties under temporary clearing skies, all in no more than moderate variable breezes.

Amárach

Thursday will be a wet and breezy day with outbreaks of rain, along with mostly fresh northeast winds. Turning colder with highest temperatures of 3 to 9 degrees, coldest across Ulster.
