Many areas will remain dry for a time today with sunny spells and moderate south to southwest winds. Some scattered showers too, generally across western counties to begin, and across northern counties for the afternoon. Cloud will gradually increase with wet and breezy moving into southwest Munster this evening, extending to southern and western counties by nightfall. Cool for early summer with highest temperatures of 12 to 18 degrees, mildest, driest and brightest further east. Winds will later increase fresh and occasionally gusty in Munster, stronger in some coastal parts.

Blustery rain will become widespread tonight and will become heavy and persistent in places, particularly for southern counties and later for eastern counties. Mist and hill fog too, especially for southern areas. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees. Cyclonic variable, mainly southeast to east winds will freshen, increasing strong for southern and eastern coasts. <br><br>

Amárach

A cloudy and wet start to Saturday for most, with further outbreaks of rain, heavy in places for a while, before easing. A clearance to mostly dry conditions with sunny spells will move into the Southwest and West early in the morning, very gradually extending elsewhere. While rain will ease off across the North and East, it will remain dull and damp with patchy rain persisting till later. Some drizzle will arrive in western counties in the evening. Again cool for early summer with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees. Cyclonic variable winds will be fresh for a time in the East and South, with just moderate westerly winds following for the afternoon and evening.
