Dry in most areas today, with sunny spells developing in the east and south. Some patchy drizzle also, mainly in the northwest, with more persistent rain and drizzle extending down across Connacht and much of Ulster later this afternoon and evening, reaching parts of northwest Munster and north Leinster by early tonight. Maximum temperatures 15 to 20 degrees, coolest in the northwest, in mostly moderate southwesterly winds, fresh to strong on west and northwest coasts.

Tonight, outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue to move southeastwards, becoming light and patchy. Clearer, mainly dry conditions will follow from the northwest, but a few mist patches may develop. Cloudy conditions, with patchy drizzle, will return to north and northwest coastal areas by morning. Minimum temperatures 9 to 13 degrees, mildest near the south coast. Winds mostly light to moderate westerly, but fresh to strong on northern and northwestern coasts.

It will be cloudier further north, with some patchy drizzle, mainly in northern coastal counties. A little fresher than recent days, with maximum temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees and moderate westerly breezes, fresh at times near north and northwest coasts.
