Widespread showers today. Some will be heavy and prolonged, with the chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms, which may lead to localised flooding. Some bright or sunny spells but a good deal of cloud about today. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate, occasionally fresh and gusty, west to southwest winds. Winds will be strong at times near windward coasts.
Showers will die out early tonight. Dry for the rest of the night with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Winds will become light and variable, allowing patches of mist and fog to form. Cool with temperatures dipping to between 2 and 4 degrees.

Some bright or sunny spells but cloud will gradually increase, bringing outbreaks of rain from the southwest in the afternoon. The rain will turn heavy and persistent in places. Light variable winds will become southeast ahead of the rain and increase moderate to fresh and gusty, with strong winds developing near the west coast towards evening.

Tuesday night: Continuing cloudy for most with showery outbreaks of rain. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly breezes.
Wednesday: A mix of sunny spells and scattered light showers at first. Turning cloudier from the southwest through the day as showers ease. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh southwesterly winds.
Thursday: A dull day for most with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Some mist and hill fog forming too. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 or 19 degrees in mostly moderate southerly winds.
