Dry and clear this evening apart from isolated wintry showers. These will die out early tonight and it will become very cold with temperatures falling to between 0 and -3 degrees leading to widespread frost and some icy stretches. Cloud will begin to build in the west later in the night. Light winds.

TOMORROW - Friday 21st November

A mostly dry and bright start to tomorrow with frost and ice gradually clearing. Cloud will increase through the morning with outbreaks of rain spreading eastwards in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in a freshening southwest breeze.

Overview: Turning less cold but unsettled.

Friday night: Wet and blustery early Friday night with widespread rain and moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds. The rain will gradually clear eastwards overnight and will be followed by clear spells and scattered showers. Winds will ease and become westerly. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees with frost possible later.

Saturday: Sunny spells and scattered showers at first. Cloud and rain will move into the southwest later in the morning and will spread northeastwards across the country during the afternoon, reaching Ulster by early evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest winds, freshening in the southwest later

Saturday night: Saturday night will be unsettled with rain followed by showers, along with strong winds in some areas. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 7 degrees.

Sunday: Sunday will be windy with showery rain in most areas. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with fresh to strong west to northwest winds.

Sunday night: Showers will continue during Sunday night and it'll be breezy with a moderate to fresh northwesterly wind. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Monday: Sunny spells and showers on Monday, mainly affecting coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with a moderate northerly breeze.
