TOMORROW - Tuesday 17th March

Tuesday, St Patrick's Day, will be relatively mild but breezy with outbreaks of rain across western areas, while holding largely dry further east with some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a fresh to strong and gusty southwest wind, best values further east.

National Outlook

Outlook: Becoming settled from midweek with mostly dry and fairly calm weather. Mild in any sunshine too.

Tuesday night: Mostly dry but with some mist, drizzle and fog in places. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 9 degrees, coldest under clearing skies across Atlantic counties, in just light to moderate southwest breezes.

Wednesday: Patchy rain or drizzle will occur, but amounts will be minimal with some areas staying fully dry. Early morning mist and fog will tend to clear, and some sunny spells will develop later in the day. Relatively mild with light easterly or variable breezes. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, mildest across Leinster and south Munster.

Thursday: A pleasant day with widespread spring sunshine. Mild with highest temperatures of 12 to 18 degrees in no more than moderate easterly winds, feeling cool though along exposed coasts. Cold after dark with lows of 1 to 4 degrees.

Friday: Another dry day with spells of hazy sunshine in just light easterly breezes. Highest temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees, best values further west.

This weekend: Turning somewhat cooler but staying dry and settled with just light breezes.
