TODAY - Friday 21st November

It will be cloudy and rather cold this afternoon with outbreaks of rain and drizzle gradually spreading eastwards across the province. Highest afternoon temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees, but turning milder later, with moderate southerly winds freshening in coastal areas towards evening.

TONIGHT

Rain and drizzle will clear eastwards early tonight with clear spells and isolated showers following. Moderate to fresh southerly winds will veer westerly and ease as the rain clears and a few patches of mist and fog will develop. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees, a little colder in inland areas, with a touch of frost possible.

TOMORROW - Saturday 22nd November

Any mist and fog will clear tomorrow morning with sunny spells and scattered showers developing. It will turn cloudier through the afternoon with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading from the west later in the day. It will be milder than recent days, with highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in light or moderate southwest to westerly winds.

National Outlook

Overview: Turning less cold and more unsettled this weekend with a spell of wet and blustery weather. Drier and brighter once again for the start of next week.

Saturday night: Wet and blustery on Saturday night with widespread outbreaks of rain, turning heavy in places. Moderate southerly winds will increase fresh and gusty overnight. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees.

Sunday: A wet and rather windy day with rain continuing for most and fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds. It will be drier in Munster with showers and sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.

Sunday night: Rain will gradually sink southwards on Sunday night, with showers and clear spells following by morning. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with northwest winds decreasing light to moderate.

Monday: Most places will be dry and bright with sunny spells and isolated light showers. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in moderate north to northwest winds.

Tuesday: Another generally dry and bright day with sunshine and the chance of just the odd light shower. Cloud will increase from the west later on. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in a light westerly breeze.

Further outlook: More unsettled and milder for the latter half of the week with spells of rain likely.
