Widespread showers early tonight will largely become confined to Atlantic coastal counties overnight, some of hail and thunder. Cold with frost setting in, along with the chance of icy stretches. A few mist or fog patches too. Lowest temperatures of -1 to 3 degrees in mostly moderate southwesterly winds.

Frost and any mist patches will clear early on Thursday to leave a mostly dry day with plenty of low winter sunshine. Scattered showers will affect Atlantic counties, some heavy aand thundery with local hail. Highest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees, coolest in Ulster, with light to moderate southerly or variable winds.
