Cold and breezy, with occasional showers. These heaviest and most frequent over Leinster and east Munster with hail and possibly some thunder in places. Much of west Connacht and west Ulster will remain dry. Winds will be blustery east to northeasterly.


Cold tonight, with further showers at times. These especially over Leinster, where some will be heavy and prolonged and will merge occasionally into longer spells of rain. Some hail mixed in too, with a risk of thunder. The best of the drier conditions will be in the northwest of the country. Northeast winds will decrease light to moderate away from east facing coasts. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4C., with some frost in places, especially in the south and southwest. A few mist and fog patches possible also where winds fall light.


Cold on Wednesday, with frequent showers, the showers turning to longer spells of rain in eastern areas with the risk of hail, thunder and spot flooding. The best of the drier weather will be in west Munster and Connacht, where a few sunny intervals may develop. Top temperatures 5 to 7 C., generally, but a little higher in some coastal fringes. Light to moderate east to southeast winds will increase fresh at times on exposed coasts.
