Heavy rain in many areas early tonight, with localised flooding possible. Overnight, the rain will gradually clear northwards from most areas, but will continue in Ulster and north Connacht until the morning. There'll be some mist and fog too. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees with moderate to fresh northeasterly winds, becoming light to moderate variable overnight.

Tomorrow morning will be mainly cloudy with patches of mist and fog. There'll be outbreaks of rain or drizzle in northern areas but these will clear during the morning. Scattered showers will move northwards across the country through the day, some turning heavy, and there'll be occasional sunny periods. Highest temperatures of 7 to 14 degrees from north to south, with moderate to fresh northeasterly winds in the north and light to moderate variable winds elsewhere.
