Storm Bram will bring very windy or stormy conditions today. Very strong to gale force southerly winds will veer west to southwest through the day, with some damaging gusts also expected. The strongest winds will be near coasts. High tides combined with onshore winds will result in some coastal flooding. Outbreaks of showery rain will clear to scattered showers this afternoon. Some heavy and thundery bursts are possible today, which will lead to further localised flooding. Mild with afternoon temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.

The night will bring a mix of clear spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers will be heavy and with a chance of thunder. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.

However, more persistent cloud will spread eastwards across the country through the night, with a band of rain reaching the west coast by morning. Thursday: Starting off windy, but dry, for most, a band of rain will slowly move eastwards across the country through the day. As the rain clears, it will be followed by mostly dry conditions. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees, with strong southerly winds easing as the rain clears.
Thursday night: The rain will clear the east coast early on, leaving a mostly clear and dry night, apart from some showers in Atlantic coastal areas. Colder than recent nights with lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees, with light to moderate southerly winds, freshening through the night.
Friday: A breezy, bright and dry day for many, but with scattered showers in Atlantic counties, some of which could be heavy and with a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees, with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
Saturday: Starting off dry and bright further east, cloud followed by outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread from the west through the day. A more persistent band of heavy rain will move into the west by nightfall. Windy with highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees, with fresh to strong southerly winds.
Further outlook: While the detail becomes more uncertain, the mobile Atlantic regime will continue to bring mixed and unsettled conditions.
