TOMORROW - Saturday 2nd May

Widespread heavy showers developing tomorrow, possibly turning thundery at times. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees in light winds.

National Outlook

Overview: Continuing mixed with spells of rain and showers over the Bank Holiday weekend. Temperatures will also trend cooler.

Saturday night: Widespread showers will continue at first, with a clearance developing from the west overnight. Dry and sunny spells will develop over the northern half of the country towards morning with lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees. Mist and fog will form too in light southeast breezes.

Sunday: Generally cloudy overall but sunny spells will develop throughout the day alongside scattered showers, some of which will turn heavy at times with the chance of thunder. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light northeasterly winds.

Sunday night: Clearer spells will develop further east overnight on Sunday with isolated showers gradually dying out. Remaining cloudier further west. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees in light to moderate northerly winds.

Bank Holiday Monday: The bank holiday will be a generally cloudy day for most but staying mostly dry apart from some patchy light rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees in light to moderate northerly breezes.

Tuesday: Remaining cloudy with scattered outbreaks of light rain and drizzle, gradually clearing from the north through the evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, warmest to the south.

Further outlook: Looking out to next week, current indications suggest a return of high pressure will allow conditions to become drier but remain cloudy. It will become milder towards the end of next week too.
