Further showers or longer spells of thundery rain early tonight, especially across west, southwest and east coastal counties. Later on, showers will become confined to Atlantic coastal counties, including the northwest, with some further heavy bursts. Drier elsewhere with clearer spells. Lowest temperatures will range 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, coldest across Ulster and Leinster with some possible grass frost here. Northwesterly breezes mostly light to moderate in strength, but strong at times along coasts.


Fresh and breezy on Friday with good sunny spells and scattered showers; the showers will be mainly across Ulster, Connacht and north Leinster. However, it will become drier into the afternoon as showers clear into the Irish Sea. It'll turn cloudier in the west and southwest by evening with some rain in the southwest before dark. Feeling cool, with highest temperatures ranging 11 to 14 degrees Celsius, in brisk northwest winds, easing down as of mid-afternoon.
