Apart from a few isolated showers, there'll be a good lot of dry weather in many areas for the afternoon, with some bright or sunny spells for a time. However, it'll become increasingly cloudy from the west through the afternoon, with a little patchy light rain and drizzle at times in parts of the northwest and west and with more persistent rain moving into Atlantic counties this evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees, coolest in the northwest. Winds will be mostly light to moderate west to southwesterly for a time, becoming moderate southwesterly in the afternoon, freshening in the west and northwest, and increasing strong in some coastal parts there.

Outbreaks of rain will continue to spread southeastwards early tonight, with clear spells and scattered showers following on from the west overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in mostly moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty southwesterly winds, veering westerly and generally moderating, but remaining strong along some Atlantic coasts.
