However, a band of rain in the Northwest will gradually sink down across the country, clearing into the Irish Sea this afternoon but with parts of the East and Southeast staying largely dry. Sunny spells and just well scattered showers will follow. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees, before turning cooler later as southwest winds veer westerly and freshen.

Dry for most tonight, with long clear spells. Cloud will start to build from the west towards morning. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees with frost and ice forming. Patches of mist and fog will also develop in light variable breezes.

Amárach

A chilly and mostly cloudy start tomorrow, with the best of any bright or sunny spells in the east and southeast. Outbreaks of rain will move into the west later in the morning, spreading across the country through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees, with moderate, occasionally fresh, southerly winds.
