Much of the eastern half of the country will stay fully dry for the rest of today with spells of autumn sunshine. Becoming cloudier across Atlantic counties with well-scattered showers, followed by some showery rain this afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, best values further east. Moderate southerly winds will freshen in places later.

Showery rain will spread eastwards across Ireland early tonight, becoming largely confined to the east and southeast with long clear spells developing elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees. Fresh southerlies will ease light to moderate overnight.

Lingering showers will affect parts of the south and east early Friday. Blustery spells of rain will move into the western half of the country during the morning, extending eastwards during the afternoon. Some heavy bursts will bring the chance of localised flooding. Hail and isolated thunderstorms will occur too, along with fresh and gusty southwesterly winds. However, sunshine and easing winds will follow from the west during the afternoon, reaching other areas during the early evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 19 degrees, coolest in the northwest. Dry, calm, and clear during the evening hours.
