Lingering rain and drizzle easing becoming mainly dry tonight. There will be clear spells across the eastern half of the country with lows of 0 to 3 degrees and some mist patches. Cloudier further west with isolated drizzle patches in parts of Connacht, west Ulster and west Munster. Lowest temperatures here of 4 to 7 degrees with light to moderate southerly breezes.

Saturday will be dry in most areas with some hazy sunshine to begin, best of which over the eastern half of the country. Cloud will increase from the west ahead of rain developing on western coasts in the early afternoon. Rain and drizzle will slowly spread over much of Connacht, west Munster and western fringes of Ulster through the afternoon and evening, holding dry further east. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with moderate southerly winds, fresh to strong along western coasts.
