Inniu

Rain will become mostly confined to Ulster and parts of east Leinster this evening. Elsewhere, there will be a mix of clear spells and a few showers.

Anocht

Patchy rain and drizzle will linger in parts of the east and north early tonight, but it will be mainly dry for a time elsewhere, with a mix of cloud and clear breaks and areas of mist and fog forming. Cloud will thicken everywhere overnight with rain spreading from the east and turning heavy at times. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, coldest where clear breaks occur. Light variable winds at first will become easterly overnight, increasing strong and gusty by morning with gales developing on coasts.

Amárach

Wet and windy on Tuesday as Storm Chandra tracks over the country. There will be widespread rain, heavy at times, possibly turning wintry for a time about higher ground in the north and northwest during the morning. Clearer, brighter breaks and showers will follow from the south, for a time, before further spells of rain spread up over the country. The rain will be persistent in the south and east and combined with already saturated ground will lead to some localised flooding. Strong east to south-east winds will reach gale force at the coast. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
