Heavy blustery showers and thunderstorms continuing in places this evening. Localised spot flooding leading to dangerous driving conditions. There will be some bright or sunny interludes between the showers. Moderate to fresh westerly winds, increasing fresh to strong and gusty in the southwest.


Tonight will be quite breezy with continued showery outbreaks of rain, heaviest and most frequent over the northern half of the country. The best of the dry conditions and clear spells will be in the south. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds, occasionally increasing strong.


Tomorrow will bring thundery showers or longer spells of rain over the north, west and north midlands with the continued risk of spot flooding. Showers will be more isolated over south Munster and south Leinster for most of the day with some bright spells. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in moderate to fresh west to southwest winds.
