Mostly dry early tonight with just isolated showers. Cloud will thicken from the west later, ahead of rain expected to arrive on the west coast before midnight. Outbreaks of rain will then spread eastwards across the country overnight and southwest winds will strengthen. Lowest temperatures of around 7 to 9 degrees, coldest early in the night.

Rain and drizzle will clear into the Irish Sea early on Tuesday morning to leave a mild and windy day. There will be a good deal of dry weather, rather cloudy and with a few patches of rain or drizzle. The best of any bright or sunny spells on Tuesday are expected in eastern and southeastern counties. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in strong and gusty southwest winds. Mist and low cloud will affect some coastal areas and hills.
