The rain will be heavy over high ground in the northwest with a risk of localised flooding. Winds will strengthen across the country overnight with gales on Atlantic coasts. Minimum temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.

Blustery on Friday with outbreaks of rain extending gradually southeastwards across the country. The rain will be heaviest and most persistent across the west and north of the country with the lengthiest dry periods in southern and southeastern counties. Top temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in fresh and gusty southwest winds with gales at the coast.
