Met Éireann, Ireland’s National Meteorological Service is currently recruiting a Laboratory Manager who will serve at Senior Meteorological Officer level within the organisation.
Met Éireann participates in multiple international environmental monitoring programmes with the aim of contributing to the global understanding of atmospheric composition, to monitoring its change and to improving knowledge of interactions between the atmosphere and other earth systems. Valentia Observatory in Co. Kerry is home to Met Éireann’s atmospheric monitoring site. Air and precipitation samples collected at this site are transferred to one of the organisation’s two laboratories, where background levels of common inorganic ions and other constituents are measured. These laboratories are located in Valentia Observatory and Met Éireann HQ, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.
The Laboratory Manager sought will be responsible for executing routine, operational tasks and will also be required to work independently on projects, as may be assigned.

Laboratory Managers work in two locations within Met Éireann:
- Met Éireann Headquarters , Glasnevin Hill, Dublin 9
- Valentia Observatory, Cahersiveen, Kerry

Met Éireann is currently recruiting multiple IT Specialists who will serve at the grade of Senior Meteorological Officer within Met Éireann. There are existing vacancies in a range of areas, such as Security, Service Management, Business Continuity Management, Infrastructure Management, Meteorological Systems Monitoring and Software, that we seek to fill through this recruitment process.
Location
IT Specialists will primarily be based in Dublin HQ Glasnevin but may also be based at any Met Éireann location, including, Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Valentia Observatory, Co. Kerry. Where possible, the successful candidates may be authorised to work remotely in line with approved policies for blended working.
