The ‘Met Éireann Podcast’ has been awarded “Best Climate Podcast of the year” at the Irish Podcast Awards. The annual award ceremony took place on November 21st, at the Morrison Hotel in Dublin. The Met Éireann Podcast had been shortlisted alongside a number of excellent podcasts in the Climate category and was selected by the panel of judges to take home the award.

Podcast presenter, Dr Noel Fitzpatrick, and Digital Communications officer, Joanne Walker, were there on the night to accept the award.

We are delighted to receive the Best Climate Podcast award” Noel commented. “Good science communication is so important, particularly in the area of weather and climate, and we are really grateful to the judges for recognising our efforts. Thank you to our brilliant guests for giving their time and expertise, and to all our great listeners for tuning in”.

Few things impact us on a daily basis like the weather; how we work and travel, how we exercise and socialise, how we grow our food, our safety and even how we feel. Our weather and climate are changing, and a better understanding of our atmosphere can help us navigate these changes.

The Met Éireann Podcast explores all things weather and climate, the mysteries of our atmosphere and meets the people that work to understand them. Dr Noel Fitzpatrick is joined by new guests in each episode to help uncover the science and its wide-ranging impacts.

The Met Éireann Podcast is available to listen and subscribe to wherever you get your podcasts, or you can listen here  via our website.
