A mix of cloud and sunny spells with well-scattered showers for the rest of today, heaviest across the East and Southeast.

TONIGHT

Tonight will bring a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, mainly across the West and Northwest. Cooler than recent nights with lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, in light to moderate northwest breezes.

TOMORROW - Friday 21st August

Friday will bring a mix of sunshine and some showers. Showers will mainly affect the North and West early on, gradually feeding into other areas during the afternoon and evening. Showers will be mainly confined to the East and Southeast by evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in light to moderate northerly winds.

National Outlook

Overview: Becoming largely dry for the weekend and start of next week with mainly light winds and some overnight mist and fog.

Friday night: A few isolated showers in the north and west but otherwise dry with long clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in light northwest or variable winds.

Saturday: Most places will be dry with sunny spells on Saturday. There's just the chance of a stray light shower in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light northwesterly winds.

Saturday night: Largely dry with long clear spells. Mist and fog will develop in near calm conditions. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

Sunday: Mist and fog will gradually clear on Sunday morning and it'll be a largely dry and bright day apart from isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light and variable winds.

Sunday night: Another dry and clear night with mist and fog patches forming towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees in light southeast to east winds.

Monday: Mainly dry and bright Monday, cloudier conditions with some showers may move up from the south later in the day. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees in moderate southeasterly winds.
