Any lingeribng showery rain across southeast areas will shortly clear. Clear spells and well-scattered showers will follow for the rest of the night, mainly affecting the north and west, some heavy in the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees with light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresher for northern and western coastal areas.
TOMORROW - Tuesday 8th September
Tuesday will be breezy with sunshine and scattered blustery showers, heaviest and most frequent across the northern half of the country. Parts of the southeast will stay fully dry. The showers will become well-scattered by evening and brisk northwesterly winds will ease. A fresh day with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.
National Outlook
Overview: Mixed conditions in store as we go through this week, some spells of rain or showers at times, but generally a good deal of dry and bright weather too. Temperatures remain around average.
Tuesday night: Showers will gradually die out leaving a dry mainly night as skies clear and winds weaken. Staying cloudy in the west with the odd isolated shower possible overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.
Wednesday: A bright and dry start apart from a few stray light showers, but turning cloudier through the day as cloud pushes in from the west. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees in light westerly winds backing southwesterly through the day.
Wednesday night: Cloudy with outbreaks of rain pushing into the west and south overnight. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds.
Thursday: Outbreaks of rain continuing at first Thursday with cloud and a more persistent spell of rain pushing in from the west and spreading across the country through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in moderate southerly winds.
Friday: Friday looks to bring a drier and brighter day with a mix of sunny spells and light showers that will ease through the afternoon leaving a dry and sunny evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in a light northwesterly wind.
