TODAY - Saturday 6th June

Dull and damp for much this morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The rain will ease by afternoon before clearing to the north-east in the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees in light easterly or variable winds, becoming light to moderate westerly later.

TONIGHT

A brief clearance will develop at first tonight, but cloud will quickly start to increase again from the west bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Eastern parts will remain mostly dry until the early hours of the morning. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in light to moderate westerly winds, backing southerly and easing overnight.

TOMORROW - Sunday 7th June

Sunday will be generally cloudy with rain and drizzle sprading in from the southwest, turning heavy and persistent at times. Brighter spells will follow in behind as that rain gradually clears to the northeast with scattered showers developing through the afternoon with sunny spells from the west. Rain and drizzle will linger in the east through to the evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light to moderate south-west winds.

National Outlook

A mobile Atlantic regime will bring a continuation of unsettled weather with rain or showers each day. Temperatures will be cooler than average for the time of year.

Sunday night: A mix of clear spells and showers over the west and north, heavy at times, with cloudier conditions further east where outbreaks of rain and drizzle will linger for a time early in the night before clearing out over the Irish Sea. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate southwest to west winds.

Monday: A bright start to the week on Monday with sunshine and showers, occasionally falling heavy. Towards the evening cloud will start to increase from the west with spells of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate west to southwest winds, fresh along west coasts.

Tuesday: Tuesday will be similar with a day of showers and sunny spells, again some heavy, with the chance of thunder possible. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees, mildest in the south, in moderate to fresh westerly winds.

Wednesday: Wednesday will start off bright for most with isolated showers. Cloud will increase throughout the afternoon, bringing spells of rain for the evening and overnight. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate westerly winds, backing southerly later. Fresh at times on west and southwest coasts.

Thursday: A wet start with rain clearing east through the morning, falling heavy and persistent at times. Showers will follow in behind later through the afternoon, heavy at times with the occasional sunny spell breaking through. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty southwest winds.

Next weekend: Showers will continue across the weekend, becoming more isolated and easing through Saturday and Sunday where we will see more in the way of sunny spells developing.
