TOMORROW - Sunday 14th September

It will be a dry start to tomorrow, Sunday, but cloud will soon increase and it will turn wet and windy through the morning as rain spreads from the west. The rain will clear in the afternoon, with sunny spells and scattered showers following, some heavy. Southeasterly winds will become fresh and gusty in the morning before veering southwesterly as the rain clears. Highest temperatures of 17 or 18 degrees.

Overview: Unsettled next week with strong winds at times and spells of heavy rain and showers.

Sunday night: A windy night with strong and gusty westerly winds and gales on Atlantic coasts. Widespread showers will continue with longer spells of rain in the west and northwest, heavy at times. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Monday: Windy with strong and gusty westerly winds and widespread showers, heavy at times in the north and northwest with spot flooding possible. The showers will ease during the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.

Monday night: Remaining blustery for a time on Monday night with fresh westerly winds. Most areas will be dry with clear spells and isolated showers. However, more frequent showers will continue in Ulster. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Tuesday: Dry for most at first on Tuesday with sunny spells. However, cloud will build from the southwest through the morning with outbreaks of rain spreading northeastwards through the day, turning heavy in the west and southwest later. Moderate southwest winds will freshen with the rain. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.

Wednesday: A bright and blustery day with sunny spells and isolated showers. Fresh to strong westerly winds will reach gale force on northern and northwestern coasts. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.

Further outlook: A brief drier and calmer spell on Thursday before unsettled conditions return for Friday and the weekend
