Becoming wet and windy today with coastal gales. Rain will become widespread by early afternoon with heavy and squally bursts possible, especially this evening with spot flooding. High seas will develop in Atlantic areas later too. Cool with highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with strong and gusty south to southeast winds.

Tonight

Continuing wet and windy early tonight across eastern and northern counties with spot flooding. The rain will clear eastwards overnight and will be followed by scattered thundery showers of rain and hail. Strong and gusty southerly winds will ease off somewhat for a time overnight. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.

Tomorrow

It will become windy again on Saturday with mostly strong and gusty south to southwest winds. While it will be a largely sunny start across the East and Northeast, scattered blustery heavy showers elsewhere will become widespread into the afternoon, with embedded hail and some thunderstorms too. Showers will merge to longer spells of rain during the afternoon and early evening, especially for Atlantic counties. High or very high seas are expected in Atlantic areas too. Cool with highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.
