National Forecast

03 April 2026 05:30

Today

Mostly cloudy at first with just limited bright spells and scattered showers or more persistent spells of rain spreading from the west. Brighter conditions will extend from the west through the afternoon with the showers becoming less frequent. Highest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees, mildest in the south, with light to moderate westerly winds, fresher for a time near southern and southwestern coasts.

Tonight

Starting off with clear spells and mostly dry apart from a few isolated showers. However, cloud in the southwest will spread northeastwards across the country with outbreaks of rain and drizzle following. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coolest in Ulster, and increasing through the night with the arrival of the cloud. Light southerly or variable winds will freshen in the southwest towards morning.

Tomorrow

Storm Dave will bring very windy and wet weather on Saturday. Southerly winds, veering southwesterly, will become very strong and gusty through the day. The strong onshore winds coinciding with high waves and high tides will give risk to wave overtopping and coastal flooding. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move northwards in the morning, with some falls of sleet or snow possible on hills in Ulster early on. Heavier and most persistent rain will spread eastwards across the country through the afternoon with spot flooding possible. A clearance to scattered showers will follow later in the evening. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.
