Issued at: 18 June 2026 18:00

TODAY - Thursday 18th June

Overcast for most this evening with scattered outbreaks of rain, heavy in places, though some areas will stay dry with brighter spells. More persistent and heavy falls of rain will push into southwestern parts through the evening with spot flooding there. Warmest in the east, with a light to moderate southerly breeze.

TONIGHT

Tonight will be wet as heavy outbreaks of rain spread northwards, leading to spot flooding, especially for southern counties. Some mist and fog too, particularly along southern coasts. Mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees, in no more than moderate southerly breezes.

TOMORROW - Friday 19th June

Friday will start off wet with spot flooding, especially for southeastern counties. The rain will turn lighter through the morning, gradually clearing eastwards, but may linger for a time for eastern counties. Sunny spells and scattered showers will follow from the west. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees, in just light southwesterly or variable breezes.

National Outlook

Overview: Drier for the weekend and early next week with some warmer days.

Friday night: Outbreaks of showery rain, heavy at times, will gradually clear northeastwards through the night as drier and clearer conditions follow from the west. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees in light west or southwest breezes with some fog patches developing.

Saturday: Dry for most with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. A few showers will occur, mostly likely in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 or 20 degrees in light westerly or variable breezes, moderate at times near northwestern coasts.

Saturday night: Dry overnight with long clear spells. Light variable breezes, falling calm at times, will allow fog patches to develop. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees.

Sunday: A mostly dry day with hazy sunshine and just the odd light shower. Cloudier conditions may develop in the northwest later. Highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees generally, a little cooler near coasts, in mostly light east or southeast breezes.

Sunday night: Cloudier at times in the north and west with the chance of a little light rain or drizzle. Otherwise it will be dry with clear spells. Temperatures not falling below 11 to 15 degrees in light southeasterly breezes.

Monday: Current indications suggest that any rain or drizzle in the northwest will clear through the morning and most places will be dry with sunny spells. However, some showers are possible for southeastern parts. Highest temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees in light southerly breezes, becoming southwesterly later.

Tuesday: A cloudier day is indicated with patchy light rain and drizzle moving in from the west. Parts of the east and southeast will stay dry though with the best of the sunshine. Highest temperatures ranging from 16 or 17 degrees in the northwest to 22 or 23 degrees in the southeast, in moderate southwest to west breezes.

Further outlook: A good deal of uncertainty in the details but while there will be some rain at times, accumulations will generally be small. Temperatures reaching the high teens or low twenties for most.
