Often cloudy today, Saturday, but some sunny spells in the mix too. Scattered showers will become more widespread this afternoon, a few of them heavy with a chance of isolated thunderstorms in the west and north. More persistent rain will develop in the south-east. Highest temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees, with mostly light southerly breezes, veering northerly through the day.
Many areas will become dry tonight, but outbreaks of rain and drizzle will persist in the east and south-east. There'll be a mix of cloud and clear spells at first, but areas of mist and fog will develop overnight. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees, with light northerly or variable breezes.
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, drizzle and mist over the eastern half of the country, limited bright or sunny spells with showers further west. Some of the showers will turn heavy in the south-west later. Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees, coolest in the east, with light to moderate north to north-east breezes.
Overview: Cool for the time of year as a northerly airflow is established over the country. While it will be quite cloudy at times, there will be plenty of dry weather for at least the first half of next week.
Sunday night: Generally dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells and perhaps the odd the light shower. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees, coolest in the north and mildest in the south, with a light to moderate northerly breeze.
Bank Holiday Monday: Generally cloudy with limited sunny spells. Staying mostly dry though apart from some patches of light rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees, coolest in the north and warmest in the south, with a light to moderate northerly breeze.
Monday night: Generally dry, apart from a few patches of light rain or drizzle mainly further north, with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees, with a light northwesterly breeze.
Tuesday: Generally cloudy with some patches of light rain or drizzle. The rain and drizzle will gradually die out through the day with some bright spells developing from the north. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, highest in the south, with a light to moderate northerly breeze.
Wednesday: A generally dry day, but quite cloudy with just limited sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees, coolest in Ulster, with a light to moderate northerly breeze.
Further outlook: There is uncertainty in the detail, but current indications are for conditions to become more unsettled with low pressure becoming increasingly dominant. Continuing cool for the time of year but with temperatures gradually creeping up.
