TODAY - Friday 26th June

This afternoon and evening will be warm with sunny spells and scattered showers. Thunderstorms are possible, especially in the midlands, west and northwest. These may bring heavy downpours with localised flooding and the possibility of hail. Highest temperatures of 23 to 29 degrees, warmest in the midlands and east with light breezes becoming moderate southerly.

TONIGHT

Tonight, showers will mostly die, but will still affect some western areas. It will become cloudier overnight with showery rain developing in the west and south. continuing mild with moderate southerly breezes and lows of 14 to 17 degrees.

TOMORROW - Saturday 27th June

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with showery rain spreading eastward to all areas through the morning and turning heavy or thundery at times in the midlands and east during the afternoon and evening. Cooler than previous days with highest temperatures of 19 in the west to 23 degrees in the east with light to moderate southerly winds. .

National Outlook

Overview: A gradual transition to less warm and humid conditions takes place this weekend as Atlantic influence increases, bringing lower temperatures and more changeable conditions.

Saturday Night: Cloudy with rain gradually clearing to a mix of showers and clear spells with brisk westerly breezes. Staying drier in the south and east. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds, becoming fresh later.

Sunday: A mix of sunny spells and scattered showers with the best of any dry weather in the east early on Sunday. The showers will be mainly in the west and north at first but they'll spread elsewhere in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures ranging from 15 degrees in the west to 20 degrees in the east in light to moderate southwest to west winds.

Sunday Night: Cloudy with scattered showers but they will gradually ease and clear away later in the night. Westerly winds will be brisk along western coasts where showers may linger for a time overnight. Lowes temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Monday: Early sunny spells and a few isolated showers will make way for more cloud developing later the morning. Winds will become southerly in the afternoon as showers develop again, with some possibly heavy. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.

Tuesday: Turning rather unsettled with scattered blustery showers and just limited sunny spells mainly in the north of the country. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.
