Atlantic Charts - Airflow

This animation shows the forecast air flow over the north Atlantic and Europe every 3/6 hours up to 10 days ahead. The map can be panned across to show more coverage.

The airflow is indicated by streamlines (think of a streamline as the path a child's helium balloon will make if accidentally released to drift with the wind. Each streamline represents the trajectory of the air at that location).

The legend colours use the land warning levels of yellow, orange and red for wind speeds with purple indicating hurricane force winds. Warnings Explained
