TODAY - Sunday 14th September

Starting off dry with some brighter spells. However, cloud will increase early on this morning, and it'll turn rather wet and windy for a time, as rain moves in from the southwest. From the afternoon, that rain will clear, with sunny spells and showers to follow, some heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees with fresh to strong southeasterly winds, gusty at times.

TONIGHT

Wet and windy with showers, heavy at times. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in mostly moderate to strong southwesterly winds, reaching near gale force and gusty at times on Atlantic coasts.

TOMORROW - Monday 15th September

Scattered showers will become more isolated later Monday morning. Brighter spells will develop towards the evening as showers continue to ease. Highest temperatures of 14 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong and gusty at times along coastal areas.

Overview: Unsettled next week with strong winds at times and spells of heavy rain and showers

Monday night: Showers will continue to ease and become more isolated with clear and dry spells developing for most. However, scattered showers will continue in Ulster. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in mostly fresh westerly winds.

Tuesday: Tuesday morning will start off dry and bright for most with just isolated showers. Cloud will build from the southwest through the morning with outbreaks of rain spreading northeastwards through the day. Heavy at times in the west and southwest come the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

Wednesday: Dry for most to start with spells of rain in the northeast. Brighter spells will develop come the early afternoon with isolated showers. Rain will develop from the southwest later Wednesday evening, and clear eastwards across the southern half of the country. Blustery with fresh to strong westerly winds reaching gale force on north and northwest coasts. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.

Thursday: A mostly dry and bright start with just a few isolated showers along north and northwest coasts. Isolated showers will develop throughout the day.

Friday: Increased uncertainty but current indications suggest a dry start with spells of showery rain moving in from the southwest by midmorning.
