Postdoctoral Researcher in Met Éireann

Met Éireann, a line division of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, is seeking expressions of interest in a Postdoctoral Research position, which will commence as soon as possible. The following is a description of the role to be recruited for.

Such monitoring and modelling, and associated advisories and decision support systems (DSS) will become increasingly important for a wide range of real-life applications, such as the protection of soil and water quality, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions in farming and forestry, ensuring optimal grass and crop production, flood and forest fire risk management and forecasting.

Met Éireann are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with a scientific and technical skillset who will work together with colleagues in Met Éireann (Observations, Database, Agricultural Meteorology Unit etc.) and ISMON partner organisations to ensure the establishment of Ireland’s soil moisture observation network. The successful candidate will also engage with key stakeholders on the delivery of objectives.
