Scattered showers in the east and north this evening. Persistent rain in Munster will spread northeastwards over Connacht, Leinster and south Ulster by nightfall. Moderate southerly winds will become southeasterly and freshen.

Tonight

Tonight, rain will become widespread and will be heavy in places, initially over the southern half of the country and then further north towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees, with mostly moderate easterly winds, but stronger along the east coast. <br><br>

Tomorrow

Saturday morning will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, which will continue in Ulster and Leinster for a time in the afternoon. Drier, brighter weather will follow from the west. However rain will develop in the southwest again in the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with light variable winds becoming moderate westerly in the afternoon.
