Strong and gusty south to southeast winds will affect the southwest early on before moving northeastwards across the country through the day. Rain will clear from the west and southwest through the afternoon, with scattered showers and light winds following. Highest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees.

Very cold tonight with frost and ice developing under clear skies with lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees in calm conditions. Rain will linger over parts of Ulster, Leinster and east Munster, heavy at times, with scattered showers elsewhere, turning wintry at times. Freezing fog is also possible across Ulster and the Midlands.

Tomorrow

Remaining chilly with showery spells of rain moving across on the country, with the chance of occasional wintry showers. Highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees in an easterly breeze.
