National Forecast

26 January 2026 19:00

Tonight

Clear spells and isolated showers early tonight with areas of mist and fog forming. Outbreaks of rain will extend across the country during the night, turning heavy with the chance of localised flooding. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees, coldest where clear breaks occur. Light variable winds at first will become easterly overnight, increasing strong and gusty by morning with gales developing on coasts.

Tomorrow

Wet and windy on Tuesday as Storm Chandra tracks over the country. There will be widespread rain, heavy at times, possibly turning wintry for a time about higher ground in the north and northwest during the morning. Clearer, brighter breaks and showers will follow from the south, for a time, before further spells of rain spread up over the country. The rain will be persistent in the south and east and combined with already saturated ground will lead to some localised flooding. Strong east to south-east winds will reach gale force at the coast. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
