Mainly dry early this morning with patches of mist and fog. These will clear with sunny spells developing. Scattered showers today, heaviest in Leinster, Ulster and east Connacht. Risk of thunderstorms in Ulster. Rain will develop in the southwest in the late afternoon and spread over Munster this evening. Highest temperatures 11 to 15 degrees with light breezes.


Tonight, rain will continue to spread northwards and will affect most areas overnight. Showers will follow into west Munster by morning. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees with light to moderate easterly breezes.


On Saturday morning there'll be further outbreaks of rain over the northern half of the country. Sunshine and showers in Munster, will extend northwards and become widespread in the afternoon, heaviest over the southern half of the country, some thundery or of hail. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with light breezes.
