Cool and blustery for the late afternoon with sunny spells and scattered heavy showers, some of hail with isolated thunderstorms possible in the north. Fresh and gusty west to northwest winds will gradually ease also.

Tonight

Early tonight, it will become largely dry with just isolated showers and with westerly winds easing mostly light. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +5 degrees, coldest across Ulster and Leinster, with frost and icy patches in places. It will turn cloudier in the west overnight with patchy drizzle and mist developing by morning.

Tomorrow

Thursday will start off mainly dry. Rain and drizzle in the west will spread eastwards to all areas. The afternoon will be cloudy with patchy mist and drizzle. Through the evening, rain will become more persistent in the west and northwest. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest winds gradually freshening
