Cold with further heavy showers overnight, especially over Leinster and east Munster, where some will be prolonged. Hail in places too, with a risk of isolated thunderstorms. Northeast winds will decrease light to moderate away from east facing coasts. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees Celsius with some frost in places, especially in the south and southwest, where a few mist and fog patches possible.


Cold and very showery on Wednesday, with longer spells of rain in eastern areas at times with some hail, thunder and spot flooding. The best of the drier weather will be in west Munster and Connacht, where a few sunny intervals may develop. Top temperatures 5 to 7 degrees Celsius, but a little higher in some coastal fringes. Light to moderate east to southeast winds will increase fresh at times on exposed coasts.
