15 October 2026 02:00

Today

A cloudy wet start for many this morning, with outbreaks of rain, heavy in places. However, a clearance to mainly dry conditions moving into northwestern parts early this morning, with sunny spells following, will gradually move southeastwards through the morning and afternoon. Some scattered showers will follow too, later in the afternoon and evening, mainly in the north and west, some heavy further north. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees. A little breezy at first this morning in parts of the east and south, with moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty south to southwest winds, but light to moderate mainly westerly winds elsewhere will soon extend to all areas, though winds will become a little fresher at times in coastal parts of the northwest.

Tonight

Tonight will bring a mix of clear spells and showers, the showers mostly affecting western and northern counties, some of them heavy, with the slight chance of thunder in the north. Cooler than recent nights, with lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees in mostly light to moderate southwest to west or variable breezes, fresh westerly in western and northwestern coastal parts.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Friday, will bring plenty of sunshine and scattered showers for a time too. The showers will be most widespread in the morning, especially across the north and west, where some will be heavy, with the slight chance of thunder at first in the north. During the afternoon, the showers will be more isolated and mainly confined to parts of Ulster and Leinster, before dying away later. Cooler than recently with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees, with winds becoming mostly moderate northwesterly through the morning and increasing fresh for a time in western and northern coastal parts, but generally easing light to moderate again in the evening.
