Generally dry today with variable cloud and good spells of sunshine. Feeling cold in a brisk northeast breeze which will be fresh to strong in coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in the north and east, a little milder in the south and west with highs of 10 to 13 degrees.


Cold and dry tonight, with long clear spells, especially in the northern half of the country where temperatures will drop to -2 to 0 degrees, with a widespread frost expected. A little cloudier further south with lows of 0 to +2 degrees. Northeasterly winds will moderate overnight, falling light in the north and west.


Cold and frosty start tomorrow. Good spells of sunshine for much of the country, although there will be some cloud in southern and eastern areas. Quite cold for this time of the year with highs of just 5 to 7 degrees in Ulster and east Leinster, 7 to 9 degrees elsewhere. Moderate northeasterly breezes will be fresh along southern and southeastern coasts.
