Today

Dry and bright for many today, with sunny spells and isolated showers. However, cloud and rain will linger in the northeast for a time. Through the afternoon and evening, cloud will increase from the west with scattered showers gradually spreading eastwards, turning heavy at times with a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresher on Atlantic coasts.

Tonight

Tonight, showers will ease for many leaving a mostly dry night with clear spells. However, showers will linger in the northwest for a time. Cloud will thicken from the southwest overnight with rain and drizzle moving into the southwest and west by morning. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coolest in the north and east, with southerly winds increasing moderate to fresh through the night.

Tomorrow

A wet and blustery day tomorrow, Friday, with rain extending northeastwards turning heavy in places. Southeasterly winds will increase strong and gusty with gales at times on exposed coasts. Scattered showers and some brighter spells will follow from the southwest through the afternoon and evening as winds ease moderate to fresh southwesterly. Some of the showers will be heavy. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees, coolest in Ulster.
