Cloudy this morning with heavy rain in eastern counties and in Ulster. This afternoon will brighten up over the western half of the country with sunshine and well scattered showers. However, it will continue cloudy in the east with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees with mostly light to moderate westerly breezes.


Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells. Patchy rain and drizzle will however linger in some eastern counties. Some mist and fog will develop overnight. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 13 degrees Celsius, coolest under clearest skies across the west.


Saturday will be mostly cloudy in the east with some patchy rain or drizzle. Some sunny spells further west. However, during the afternoon, outbreaks of rain will develop in western coastal counties and spread further inland through the evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with light variable breezes.
