Today

Cold and breezy today with sunny spells and showers. Some of the showers will be wintry with falls of snow possible over high ground. The showers may merge to give longer spells of rain or sleet for a time. Towards evening, there will be lots of sunshine and the showers will become increasingly confined to Atlantic coastal counties. There is the continued chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, with moderate to fresh, gusty westerly winds.

Showers will become less frequent, becoming largely confined to Atlantic coastal counties with clear spells developing. It will become cold with frost and some mist or fog patches as westerly winds decrease light. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees.

Tomorrow

Saturday will start off mainly dry with bright or sunny spells, the best of these in the east. Scattered showers will extend eastwards through the morning. They'll continue through the afternoon and will gradually die out in the evening. Cloud will increase in the west. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with light to moderate west to southwest breezes.
