Mostly cloudy and wet as persistent rain continues to spread from the west, turning heavy at times. However, the rain will ease in the northwest later this evening with some showers following. Feeling mild and humid in a moderate southwest wind, strong at times near northwest coasts.

Tonight

Rain will persist over the southern half of the country for a time early tonight but will gradually clear from southeastern counties. Further north, drier with clear spells and some showers developing, most frequent in the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in light to moderate west to southwest winds, strong & gusty near Atlantic coasts and over Donegal.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow Friday, will be bright and breezy with scattered showers, mostly affecting the northern half of the country. Much of Munster and south Leinster may remain dry for the day. Cooler than previous days with highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong and gusty along west and north coasts.
