A dull start with mist and fog patches. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will linger in parts this morning, particularly over the northern half of the country. Conditions will generally remain cloudy but drier for most through the day, with just a few coastal showers. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees, in light to moderate easterly or variable winds.

Tonight

Rain and drizzle will continue overnight with dry and clear conditions over parts of the southwest where frost and icy patches may form early on in the night. Cloud will thicken towards morning as heavy rain feeds in from the southwest. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees, coldest in the southwest. Light to moderate east to south-east or variable winds, stronger along west and north coasts.

Tomorrow

Another dull and wet day with widespread rain. Rain will persist for the afternoon, and turn heavy at times, before gradually clearing eastwards. Breezy too with fresh to strong south-east winds, and gusts along Atlantic coasts. Highest temperatures of 4 to 10 degrees, coldest in the north.
