Wet and very windy overnight as rain in the west extends eastwards, heavy and squally at times with a risk of spot flooding, especially in Connacht. Strong and gusty south to southwest winds with gales along western and southern coasts bringing some severe gusts at times on exposed western coasts. Lowest overnight temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees will occur early in the night.

Tomorrow

On Saturday morning, rain in eastern areas will clear. Heavy or squally showers will follow from the west to all areas with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms. A blustery day with fresh and gusty southwest winds, strong on coastal areas especially in the west. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees.
