Rain

For the coming week, high pressure will continue to dominate the weather over Ireland. So, it will be largely dry with little or no rainfall expected.
Temperatures
For the past week, day time temperatures have been above average across Ireland. However, some of the nights have been chilly. Overall, mean air temperatures were between 0.1 and 3.0 degrees above average and ranged from 10.6 degrees in Dublin airport to 13.9 degrees at Shannon Airport. Soil temperatures were above average by between 3.2 and 5.9 degrees and ranged from 13.1 degrees at Knock airport to 16.6 degrees in Oak Park, Co. Carlow and at Cork Airport. For the coming week, both mean air and soil temperatures will continue to be well above average for mid-May
Sunshine
Over the past week, sunshine amounts were well above average across the country, ranging between 157 and 198 % of average. Sunshine hours ranged from 66.9 hours recorded at Valentia Observatory, Co. Kerry to 82.6 hours in Belmullet, Co. Mayo. For the coming week, sunshine amounts will be well above average.
Drying Conditions
With dry weather expected, drying conditions will be good over the coming week.

There will generally be good opportunities for spraying over the coming week with light to moderate east or northeast breezes expected.
