A band of rain will move eastwards across the country overnight, turning heavy at times, followed by squally showers. Some hail and thunder may occur, especially in the northwest. Moderate southerly winds will increase fresh and gusty overnight veering westerly, and increasing strong in the west and northwest by morning. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow will bring a blustery day with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers at first. Longer spells of rain will move into the Ulster later in the morning, turning heavy at times, with the chance of hair or thunder. The rain will slowly spread southwards over Connacht and north Leinster through the afternoon and evening. The best of the sunny spells will be towards the southeast. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds will develop tomorrow with highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.
