The Research Fellow will work in collaboration with a team at Met Éireann and international colleagues to contribute to research and developments in UV Index. The primary role of the UV Index Postdoctoral Researcher will be to work on the calculation and forecast modelling of UV Index for all regions of Ireland to provide definitive data for general public warnings.

Research Fellow – Numerical Weather Prediction at Hectometric Scale

Met Éireann, a line division of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, is seeking expressions of interests in a research fellowship, which will commence as soon as possible. The following is a description of the role to be recruited for.
The Research Fellow will work in collaboration with the NWP team at Met Éireann and international colleagues to contribute to research and developments in very high-resolution modelling. The work will address some of the challenges facing forecast models running at horizontal resolutions on the order of one hundred metres. These include the scientific performance and configuration of the model itself along with the need for very high-resolution observations, for both assimilating and forecast verification.

Met Éireann, a line division of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, is seeking expressions of interests in a research fellowship, which will commence as soon as possible. The following is a description of the role to be recruited for.
The Research Fellow will work in collaboration with the NWP team at Met Éireann and international colleagues to contribute to research and developments in the use of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to benefit very high-resolution forecasting systems. A wide range of possible project areas exist, with the application to all stages of the operational systems. These include observation pre-processing and assimilation, generation of climatological and surface input data, replication of physical model components with data-driven methods, and post-processing of raw model output.

Research Fellow – Code Performance for High-Resolution Numerical Weather Prediction

Research Fellow in Met Éireann
Met Éireann, a line division of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, is seeking expressions of interests in a research fellowship, which will commence as soon as possible. The following is a description of the role to be recruited for.
The Research Fellow will work in collaboration with the NWP team at Met Éireann and international colleagues to contribute to research and development on the performance of operational NWP codes on emerging HPC systems. This will involve software engineering and algorithmic and programming aspects, to restructure and redevelop with the goal of efficient model code on a range of architectures.
